MILWAUKEE, July 11-- The A.O. Smith Corporation (NYSE: AOS) (Amex: SMCA) Board of Directors today announced an eight percent increase in the company's quarterly cash dividend to a rate of $.13 cents per share.

The new dividend will apply to both Common Stock and Class A Common Stock and will be payable August 15 to shareholders of record July 31.
